The Sunbeam Tiger is truly a hotrod that you could have bought from the factory. It’s a two seater convertible with a big American V8 up front, what more could you ask for?! The Sunbeam Tiger was built by the Rootes Group, who also built the Sunbeam Alpine Roadster. The Tiger was designed in part by Caroll Shelby, and was produced from 1964-1967. There were two engines available for the Sunbeam Tiger, a 4.3L V8 and a 4.7L V8. Interestingly, the 4.3L V8 made only 164 horsepower from the factory, but buyers could opt for dealership installed upgrades that bump the horsepower up to as much 245 for just $250, what a deal!

This particular car is a matching numbers example according to the seller. It has been in storage since 1982, but is claimed to be mostly complete as it sits. The seller is also providing a Sunbeam Alpine as a parts car for the doors, sheet metal, and whatever else might be needed or swapped over. The V8 still sits proudly up front, although it will obviously need work as well. A very cool project, and a very cool car.
