During the 1970’s Luigi Chinetti (a pivotal individual in Ferrari history) had several damaged Ferrari’s sent back to Italy to be rebodied. This 330 GTC came to the USA as a standard Pinninfarina bodied car. It was damage in an accident, purchased back by Chinetti and sent to Zagato to be rebodied. What they came up with was unique, one-of-a-kind and of the period. It was displayed by Zagato at the 1974 Geneva Motor show.

For anyone wanting a one off bodied Ferrari this is one to keep an eye on. It may change hands for reasonable money. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/ve19/villa-erba/lots/r0040-1967-ferrari-330-gtc-zagato/773485

This particular car comes with a removal targa top, and is the only extant 330 GTC with coachwork by Zagato. The design is angular and similar in some ways to Michelotti’s Daytona NART Spiders.

RM has had several of these Chinetti rebodied cars for sale this year.  All very interesting. Unique styling and they tend to go for modest prices (in the authors opinion).

Daytona Nart spyder. Stunning!  Sold at RM’s Arizona auction for $670,500: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az19/arizona/lots/r0097-1971-ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-nart-spider-by-michelotti/732217

330GT Shooting Brake by Vignale. Changed hands at the Petersen Auction. Dec 2018 for $313,000: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/ca18/the-petersen-automotive-museum-auction/lots/r0005-1965-ferrari-330-gt-2plus2-shooting-brake-by-vignale/698346

It would be great if these cars somehow ended up in the same collection. For some the styling is a challenge, but count me as an enthusiast!
