Instantly recognizable, the DB5 Aston Martin is considered by many to be a pinnacle of post war sports car design.
The car we have available left the factory in June of 1964 in the desirable combination of Left Hand Drive, with Air Conditioning and a 5 speed ZF gearbox. It is believed that no more than 35 cars were built in this combination.
For an owner who is ready to drive his DB5 in rallies and tours this is the ideal combination.
Our DB5 was sold thru the Pasadena based dealer, Peter Satori Company. We can only imagine the fun that was had driving and living with this Aston in California in the 1960’s.
The car remained in California for the next 52 years.
Factory options include chrome wire wheels with three eared knock offs and a limited slip differential (3.77:1 ratio). The car also has Selectaride adjustable shock absorbers.
In 1987 the car was sold to a collector in southern California. At that time the car showed 7,452 miles on the odometer. The car was originally Sand with Green interior. In 1987 when the car changed hands it also changed colors to its current combination of dark green with black leather.
The car remained in the southern California collection until 2017 when it changed hands again. The new owner sent the car to Steel Wings in Pennsylvania, the renowned Aston Martin restoration and maintenance shop. They refreshed the cars mechanical components. Receipts for the work total $37,000.
Currently the car shows a little over 8,000 miles. It retains its matching number engine. We have serviced the car thoroughly and it is in excellent condition awaiting its next owner.
The car is in our Brookfield, Connecticut facility and is available to be shown and driven.
