There is a triangle of three tubes. Its strange but all three have extra welds on them. The steering box mounts off one. The lower A Arm on the drivers side bolts to another and the chassis number is on the third (the top one).

Something looks to have gone on with this triangle of tubes. Cracks, breaks or something.

 

 

This is the same hood opening area from the sister car.  It has the same look to it as the red car. Rather rough and unfinished.

Here is an unrestored Maserati A6G, Allemano bodied, that we had a few years ago.  Look at the rough, unfinished look to the sheet metal in the engine compartment.

To modern eyes it doesn’t look right. I guess as long as the outer, visible surfaces, looked good  the inner surfaces just needed to do their job.
