Chassis number 106.000076, This is as elegant a car as you’ll find. While not a double bubble Zagato to many (these eyes included) the look is cleaner and more appealing. Only 26 were ever built, and this one is equipped with a 2.0 liter V8.
The Fiat 8V (Ford would not allow them to use V8) was Fiats attempt to create a fast, high quality, sports car, in direct competition with Maserati and Ferrari. Something Fiat would give up on midway thru the 8V production.
The 8V tome by Tony Adriaensens indicates that this car has no known period race history. It has been used, multiple times, in the modern Mille Miglia and was vintage raced in Italy in the 1970’s. It is great news that the car has been recently reunited with its original engine.
Eligible for any vintage racing or concourse event. The listing can be found here: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/ve19/villa-erba/lots/r0013-1955-fiat-8v-coupé-zagato/758749
